Skillshare is an online library of educational videos that makes learning an enjoyable and interactive experience.

The platform caters for a wide range of creative skills such as writing, illustration, graphic design, animation and photography. Business and lifestyle are other fields that Skillshare specialise in.

Lessons are taught through short videos that add up to a whole tutorial. Think of it like a learned version of YouTube where creators post content alongside supplementary course material that is reviewed by students.

In an attempt to pick up tips and sharpen our own capabilities at being productivity we selected and took 20 Skillshare productivity courses taking turns at applying the techniques and suggestions to our very own daily routines.

Some of the courses were incredibly inspiring, providing genuinely useful easy to apply tips that we will never give up. Others less so. Below is our top 6 courses of the bunch, each providing some of our favourite tips.

  1. Maintain consistency with your approach to work. For us this meant in stop skipping between different cloud storage services and instead focus on fully integrating just one across all of our devices and shared folders.
  2. Don’t try and achieve everything all at once. New ideas are exciting and it’s easy to get carried away spending time on new avenues. Instead be disciplined and start small. Start small and grow steadily.
  3. Keep habit tracking simple!

  2. View failure as a positive experience. What do you now know because of a failure, that you didn’t know last week? Failure is feedback, something so valuable that businesses are willing to pay for.
  3. Limit your to-do list to only 3 things. Think of it as a ‘to-day’ list by only committing to an achievable about of work each day.
